PUBLIC FORUM ON DEMENTIA
This Public Forum on Dementia was co-organised by EISAI (M) Sdn Bhd and Alpha. The event which took place on 15th May was attended by an enthusiastic crowd of 60 people. The majority of guests came from the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) and 10 represented the National Council of Senior Citizenship Association, NASCOM. The forum began with a welcome speech by our honourable Chairperson, Dr Lee Moon Keen, followed by talks by Dr Lee Fatt Soon (Geriatrician), Dr Richard Chua (Neurologist) and Dr Ting Joo Hang (Psychiatrist).
The event started at 9.00 a.m. and adjourned at 12.00 noon with refreshments sponsored by EISAI (M) Sdn Bhd.
REPORT DEMENTIA
Public Forum on Dementia was co organised by ESAI (M) Sdn Bhd and Alpha. The event which took place on 15th May was attended by an overwhelmed number of 60 people. The majority guests came from the AFDM Association and 10 represented the National Council of Senior Citizens Organisations Malaysia (NASCOM).
The forum began with a welcome speech by our honorable Chairperson, Dr Lee Moon Keen, followed by talks by Dr Lee Fatt Soon (Geriatrician), Dr Ricahrd Chua (Neurologust) and Dr Ting Joo Hang (Psychiatrist).
The event started at 9.00am and adjourned at 12.00 noon with refreshments sponsored by ESAI (M) Sdn Bhd.
Already known in the market as the first ambulatory centre, Alpha was offered a complimentary booth to introduce our services and facilities to the congress participants.
Generally, 100 representatives from majority hospitals under APHM participated in the event. About 10 booths were on display and among them were KPJ, Prince Court, LKL Supplies and M’sian Tourism Department. There were also foreign participants from China, Australia and Singapore who came by to our booth and enquired about our services.
It was held for a week in March with almost 500 shoppers visited our booth. Our objective was to get to know the community and create medical awareness to the public while introducing our centre. Free cholesterol and Blood pressure check were given to the public as part of the hospital’s community service.
Presented by Alpha’s panel consultants namely Dr Tai Yih Siew (Cardiologist), Dr Lau Wee Ming (Physician) and Ms Rainy Ng from Resmed (M) Sdn Bhd. Topics touched on heart and sleep apnea had won attention from a crowd of 27 guests. The event started at 9.30am and adjourned at 12.30pm.
